This is a private commission piece done a bit more than a year ago. I spent a ridiculous amount of time on it. Thankfully the commissioner was as patient as I was slow. I do like how it turned out, so it was a good experience.

A piece started to really work with Painter. Until now, I haven't been utilizing Painter as much as I would have liked, mostly due to my inexperience with the program. This piece was a great learning experience as I was able to create a nice work flow and discover the advantages of it.
This was also done for the Gnomon Workshop monthly contest "Dearly Departed". Nice Halloween theme.

A much older portrait with a different approach. Inspired by some duo-tone photographs I was seeing at the time. It was nice to paint with a limited palette, definitely different for me. I eventually added some hints of color here and there. I was able to find some time to finish it off.

I'm drawing a lot of doll like characters lately. It's fun to be free to twist certain features. This one came pretty naturally. I wanted to painting something yellow, and it turned out to be a fun challenge with gold.

Just got back from Vietnam and couldn't do anything for a week.
Started watching movie trailers and finally saw one for "The Spiderwick Chronicles". The flower creature sequence sparked my interest, and this is what came out of it. I tried to be much looser, more of a conceptual piece than anything.
